POSITION SUMMARY
This representative will work on the Inside Plant (ISP) team to install, test/certify, label, maintain and document fiber optic cabling inside residential and business customer settings, working with them to develop a plan for installation and ensure they are able to connect their devices.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

- Arrive at the customer’s property on time and work efficiently to complete work according to daily schedule.
- Develop an installation plan with the customer, keeping them informed of all steps that will be involved and obtaining agreement.
- Complete installation according to Joink standards and best practices, escalating to team Lead when questions or assistance with troubleshooting is needed.
- Test and assist customers with device connections in the home.
- Notify Supervisor/Lead when installations are completed through established notification procedure system.
- Reach out to team Lead with install questions and for troubleshooting help.
- Maintain a professional appearance and a clean, well-organized van stocked with appropriate tools and inventory.
- Sign out daily inventory accurately.
- Accurately document work completed throughout the day in company software, following all associated procedures.
- Driving duties include conveying materials, equipment, and staff to and from work sites.

- Adept in verbal communication.
- Ability to maintain a professional demeanor.
- Ability to evaluate situations and adjust to changing priorities.
- Ability to learn and use specific computer programs.
- Ability to use hand tools, work on ladders, and work in attics and crawlspaces.
- Handle confidential information, including thoughtful use of cell phone conversations in a public setting and electronic recordkeeping in compliance with client and Joink requirements.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
- 40 hours per week with mandatory overtime on Fridays
- Voluntary Saturdays
- Mix of indoor and outdoor work, year-round, in all weather conditions
- Must be able to work overtime with and without notice.
- Occasional travel for training and professional development
- Must be willing to travel to other Joink regions 10-15% of the time to complete work when needed, with occasional overnight stays.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Candidate must be willing to reside near or commute to a Joink office (Currently within Illinois: Taylorville, Hillsboro; Indiana: Terre Haute)
- Valid driver’s license and driving record that falls within policy requirements.
- Ability to perform both mechanical work (pulling cable, installing wire, mounting brackets, punching down CAT5e) and technical work (training occurs on the job).
- Candidates which have the following will have priority:
- Associates’ degree related to telecommunications or 2+ years’ equivalent experience
- Construction experience, either residential or commercial
