Okay, tell me more about the history of Joink.
We are so glad you asked. Our journey has always been driven by a passion for solving challenges and meeting the needs of our customers and communities. As we grew, we found that simply building and maintaining a large wireless network required a large amount of technical knowledge and expertise, so we hired talented team members with great attitudes. At the same time, our customers grew to recognize and count on our expertise. As a result, they started bringing us in to assist them with IT challenges.
At the same time we were building some of the earliest wireless networks, we started to delve deeply into areas of the new IP-based world that interested us. We helped develop the base code for the Asterisk open source telephony project, we were pioneers in hosted voice applications, and we jumped into hosted applications and virtualization. Once again, our partners and business clients gave us new challenges to solve and we jumped at the opportunity. Our consulting work and business continued to grow.
We knew we had a special team of technology experts able to work with companies in parts of the country that were starved for top-quality IT consulting and expertise. The result has been very powerful, and Joink has seen double digit growth in our clients and revenues every year since our founding. Today, we are applying our expertise across our eastern Illinois/western Indiana footprint as we extend Joink fiber to more and more premises and connect those premises to our own cloud and content providers and the internet in general.
But businesses aren’t the only folks who need high speed, reliable internet. Residential customers do, too. That’s why we now provide fiber optic internet to communities across Indiana and Illinois, and continue to expand into new neighborhoods as fast as we can dig.
